Installation
Installation of the Evaporative Cooler
Installation of an evaporative air conditioner usually takes a day although in some cases with larger more complex installations two days. The installation team consists of the installers, licensed electrician and licensed plumber.
The cooler is usually located on the rear roof pitch at the back of the property, although this can change depending on the homes orientation in relation to road frontage.
The colour of the cooler that closest matches the existing roof colour will be chosen... The cooler is mounted on a colorbond dropper, this supports the cooler.
The dropper is securely attached to the roof trusses or bearers and cross braced, at the same time power and a permanent water supply are run to the unit. The water connection to the unit features an isolating valve and a drain tap to eliminate the possibility of water freezing during the winter months.
The system will be designed to deliver more cool air to the living areas of your home than bedrooms as we know Canberra’s climate dictates that we require a lot more day time cooling than nighttime cooling. Therefore special emphasis will be placed on rooms with high external heat loads (westerly facing) and rooms of most use and high internal heat loads, such as kitchen and family rooms.
